SHOPAHOLIC SLUMDOG.
Wednesday evening was one rare moment that i can be home early. Following my pledge that after the exams, i would update myself with the current flicks the entertainment scene had to offer and so with the usual microwavable popcorn and a glass of cola, I started with the film Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was the usual. Like how women adore shopping too much leaving them indebted with tons of tons of credit card bills and in the end regret the splurge. I am glad i have learned to put a halt with the addiction.
Since i became a mommy, i realized that indeed, there is a big difference between need and want. That i buy because it is about to be used. Drawing from the character of Isla Fisher, she was quite funny and smart, she carried the clothes well and gave justice to the “green scarf”. Best of all, portraying as a journalist in the movie gave more meaning that ideas, (although revolves in the world of fashion and saving up) can be very well conveyed through writing.
A twist of a fabulous life in Confessions of a Shopaholic began to die down when a DVD copy of Slumdog Millionaire started to run. Here, the worse conditions of the slums in Mumbai, India was depicted and how Jamal, the boy who had lots of “diskarte” survived every downfall of his life and managed to trace the girl he loved along with his million Rupees when he won the game “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.”
Indeed, Slumdog tells us that it need not take you to become a genius to win a contest even if cheating is alleged to destroy composure and focus. Sometimes luck and everything that life teaches us can give us the answers to even the most profound game show question there is.
