The Law school life

June 13th, 2005

Lifestyle for most law students are different. Real different. With the goal to become a full-pledged lawyer someday, we try to manage carefully whatever resources we have. Toxicity is a common by-word but giving up is never an option.

Living up to the expectations of our school is a feat we all must strive to belong. Tomorrow, i must say is our 1st day of classes. Mixed emotions envelope me. I have to prepare for the worst, yet i don’t know where to start. Yes, i have been constantly reading my civil law codal but it’s just a part and parcel of the next big thing.

Following the socratic method of classroom discussion, we don’t get to ask questions to our demi-god professors. That’s a big no-no. 40 cases a week is not a big joke either. Considering that i’m working, challenges are normal. I hope i can contain these hurdles.

Im glad i belong to the first among equals law school in this side of metro manila. I have yet to embrace the culture without a frat to guide me. I thought reading is the only option i have to survive. To read, read and read is what i must do.

In times where i feel nobody’s here to guide me, i look at my books and say, hey, i’m not alone after all.

True enough, lawyering is a serious profession, a jealous one indeed. For now, i have to study hard and make it to the Order of Flaming Arrows, an honors society granted to those who love law above all things.
